Join us on a Wild sheep safari!
Join us on a guided tour where you're likely to encounter some of the Old Norse sheep belonging to the Hardbakke Wild Sheep Association – grazing freely in their natural coastal habitat.
Along the way, you'll experience one of Norway’s most distinctive landscapes, shaped by wind, sea, and time. We’ll share stories about the area's geology, nature, and how both locals and sheep work together to preserve the endangered coastal heathlands. This collaboration supports a socially and environmentally sustainable way of life in Solund.
The wild sheep are not easily tamed, but with a bit of luck, we’ll find them nestled behind rocky outcrops – and if they’re in the mood, you may even get the chance to feed or gently interact with them. Using modern Nofence GPS technology, we’re able to track the animals without traditional fencing, giving them freedom and keeping the landscape open. We’ll tell you more about how this works during the tour.
We look forward to welcoming you to a fun, insightful and truly unique wild sheep safari.
